These days, fiber-reinforced materials have become indispensable. We find them in all walks of life, such as in car interiors or plastic covers for electronic appliances. In the high-tech sector, too, many applications would be impossible without the use of fiber-reinforced materials.
However, when it comes to additive manufacturing, the possibilities of using fiber-reinforced materials are still very limited. To change this, we are developing ways to process fiber-reinforced materials additively. Besides adapting existing additive processes, such as fused layer modeling, we are also developing new processes specifically designed for processing fiber-reinforced materials.
