“RDR" - Robotic Drilling and Riveting

The aim of the RDR (Robotic Drilling and Riveting) project was to develop technologies for high accuracy robot-assisted drilling and riveting processes. The main focus was on positioning, as well as on borehole orthogonality. Experiments were carried out using different materials such as aluminium, titanium, carbon fiber composites and mixed stacks of these materials.
