Fraunhofer IPA and Fischerwerke GmbH & Co. Kg have jointly developed a concept to digitally support sustainability management. The goal was to efficiently capture sustainability data, automate processes, and integrate with adjacent IT systems. This allows for efficient fulfillment of internal and external reporting requirements.
With increasing demands from customers, politics, and society, sustainability management in companies is becoming more complex and data-intensive. Fischerwerke GmbH & Co. KG faced the challenge of developing a process for efficiently capturing and utilizing sustainability data and selecting a digital solution for sustainability management. This simplified and largely automated data collection.
Project Goal:
Together with Fraunhofer IPA, a project was initiated to develop a concept for an integrated process to support sustainability management. The goal was to conduct a detailed requirements analysis and create a concept that enables the digitization of these processes.
Project Process:
Initially, Fischer provided relevant information and data representing the status quo and requirements of sustainability management. Fraunhofer IPA conducted a thorough analysis and developed a concept for a suitable information system. This system is designed to capture sustainability activities, automate processes, and integrate with the ERP system, significantly increasing the efficiency of sustainability management and ensuring transparency over key metrics.
Result:
The developed concept enables the automation of the collection and evaluation of sustainability data, leading to significant efficiency gains and error minimization.
Project Benefits:
»Fischerwerke is a pioneer in implementing effective sustainability management. To continue being prepared for upcoming challenges, this project was very valuable. By providing resources and detailed, unbiased elaboration, a very professional decision-making foundation was created, allowing us to take the next steps.«
