The »Process Development« division at ebm-papst handles over 1,000 projects per year. Due to this vast number of tasks, project management became increasingly complex. To solve this problem, Fraunhofer IPA proposed a clearly arranged board for coordinating projects.
The project board is the result of a three-month process analysis. A team of customers and scientists divided project progress into assignable phases and developed indicators and target figures to measure performance. For ebm-papst, the resulting project board is the ideal instrument for improving the process in a methodical and sustainable way. By handling projects more efficiently, the division has been able to cut its throughput times.
